The Kate and Gustav Weindorfer Honours List
In 2010, the Friends of Cradle Valley decided to establish an honours list to provide recognition for key people who have contributed to Cradle Valley. The first recipients of this grass-roots community honour were the Ellis Brothers (Ossie, Mort and Alec) who developed the Pencil Pine Lodge tourist accommodation in 1972. In 2012, it was decided to name this list in honour of Kate and Gustav Weindorfer who established the very first accommodation house called Waldheim one hundred years ago, and to enshrine The Kate and Gustav Weindorfer Honours List on our website. Nominations for this list are invited from members and the wider community, and should be directed to the Secretary via the Contact Form, together with a brief biography and reason for the nomination.
